Legal
Terms of Service
Effective July 8, 2026
Please read these Terms carefully. By creating an account or using Legal LifeSaver, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
Legal LifeSaver is not a law firm. Nothing in this service is legal advice, and using this service does not create an attorney-client relationship. Legal LifeSaver is a personal document and deadline organization tool. You remain solely responsible for your legal matter, including every filing, deadline, and legal decision.
1. About This Service
Legal LifeSaver is a software application that helps individuals organize documents, evidence, and deadlines related to their own legal matters. It is a personal-productivity and document-organization tool.
Legal LifeSaver is currently operated by an individual pending the formation of Monocleshire LLC, a limited liability company. Upon formation of that entity, these Terms will be amended to reflect the operating entity’s legal name, jurisdiction of formation, and registered address. References in these Terms to “Legal LifeSaver,” “we,” “us,” or “our” mean the current operator.
2. Not a Law Firm — No Legal Advice
Legal LifeSaver is not a law firm. We do not provide legal services, legal representation, or legal advice. Using the service does not create an attorney-client relationship between you and Legal LifeSaver or any of its operators, employees, contractors, or affiliates. No information you receive from the service — whether displayed in the interface, sent by email, or produced as an exported document — is legal advice.
All content, features, output, and communications from the service are provided for organizational and informational purposes only. Legal LifeSaver does not evaluate the merits of your case, does not recommend legal strategy, does not select or draft legal arguments, and does not tell you what to file or when to file it.
You are solely and exclusively responsible for:
- Understanding the law that applies to your situation
- Selecting, preparing, reviewing, and filing your court documents
- Meeting every court deadline, filing requirement, and procedural rule
- The consequences of any decision you make in your legal matter
If you need legal advice, consult a licensed attorney in your jurisdiction. Many state and county bar associations maintain lawyer referral services and legal-aid clinics for people who cannot afford counsel.
3. Your Content
You retain all right, title, and interest in the documents, files, notes, case data, and other content you upload or create within the service (“Your Content”).
By using Legal LifeSaver, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to store, transmit, process, display, and back up Your Content solely to the extent necessary to operate the service, provide you access to it, and perform routine technical operations (such as generating a PDF exhibit binder from files you have uploaded). This license terminates when you delete Your Content or your account, except that we may retain minimal backup copies for a reasonable period as part of standard disaster-recovery backups, after which they will be permanently deleted.
We claim no ownership of Your Content and do not use it for any purpose other than operating the service on your behalf.
4. Your Representations About Your Uploads
By uploading content to the service, you represent and warrant that:
- You own or otherwise have all necessary rights to the content
- The content does not violate any law and does not infringe any third party’s rights (including copyright, trademark, privacy, or publicity rights)
- You have the legal right to store and process the content, including any personally identifying information about others contained in it
- Your use of the content within the service is lawful
You are solely responsible for the content you upload.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Upload or transmit content that is unlawful, infringing, defamatory, threatening, harassing, or obscene
- Use the service to store or transmit malware, viruses, or other harmful code
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the service, other users’ accounts, or our infrastructure
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or otherwise attempt to derive source code from the service, except to the extent expressly permitted by applicable law
- Use automated tools (bots, scrapers) to access the service without our prior written consent
- Resell, sublicense, or otherwise commercially exploit the service without our prior written consent
- Use the service to violate any law or regulation
Violation of this section may result in immediate suspension or termination of your account, at our sole discretion.
6. Accounts and Account Security
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity under your account. You agree to notify us promptly if you suspect any unauthorized use of your account.
You must be at least 18 years of age to create an account. The service is not directed to persons under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from minors.
7. Deadline Tracker Disclaimer
The deadline-tracking feature is a memory aid, not a substitute for your own diligence. Missing a court deadline, filing deadline, statute of limitations, or any other legally significant date is not the responsibility of Legal LifeSaver.
We do not guarantee that reminders, notifications, or displayed dates are correct, timely, delivered, or received. You must independently verify every deadline in your legal matter and take primary responsibility for meeting it. Do not rely on Legal LifeSaver as your sole means of tracking a deadline whose miss could harm your case.
If a reminder does not arrive, if the software is unavailable, if a date is displayed incorrectly, if a time zone is miscomputed, or if any other software issue causes or contributes to a missed deadline, Legal LifeSaver bears no responsibility for the consequences. You accept that a legal deadline can be missed for many reasons — hardware failure, network outage, email delivery failure, calendar miscalculation, timezone confusion, human error — and that using this software does not shift that risk to us.
8. No Guarantee of Accuracy for Automated Features
If the service now or in the future includes any AI-assisted, machine-learning-based, or otherwise automated features (for example, automatic categorization of documents, suggested exhibit labels, deadline extraction from uploaded files, or natural-language responses), you understand and agree that:
- Such features may produce inaccurate, incomplete, biased, or misleading output
- You must independently verify every piece of automated output before relying on it
- We make no representation that automated output is legally correct or appropriate for your matter
- Any output generated with the help of the service is your work product and your responsibility
9. Warranty Disclaimer
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, STATUTORY, OR OTHERWISE. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, WE EXPRESSLY DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION:
- ANY IMPLIED WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY
- ANY IMPLIED WARRANTY OF FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, INCLUDING FITNESS FOR ANY LEGAL, LITIGATION, OR EVIDENTIARY PURPOSE
- ANY IMPLIED WARRANTY OF NON-INFRINGEMENT
- ANY WARRANTY THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, TIMELY, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE
- ANY WARRANTY THAT DATA WILL NOT BE LOST, CORRUPTED, OR EXPOSED
- ANY WARRANTY REGARDING THE ACCURACY OF ANY OUTPUT, DEADLINE, LABEL, INDEX, DATE, TIME, OR OTHER DISPLAY
WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE IS SUITABLE FOR USE IN CONNECTION WITH LEGAL PROCEEDINGS OR FOR ANY OTHER SPECIFIC PURPOSE.
10. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT WILL LEGAL LIFESAVER, ITS OPERATORS, EMPLOYEES, CONTRACTORS, OR AFFILIATES BE LIABLE FOR:
- ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES
- LOST PROFITS, LOST REVENUE, LOST BUSINESS OPPORTUNITY, OR LOSS OF GOODWILL
- LOSS OF DATA OR COST OF SUBSTITUTE SERVICES
- ANY DAMAGES ARISING FROM AN UNSUCCESSFUL LEGAL OUTCOME, ADVERSE JUDGMENT, MISSED DEADLINE, SANCTION, DISMISSAL, DEFAULT, OR OTHER LITIGATION EVENT
- ANY DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR RELIANCE ON THE SERVICE OR ITS OUTPUT FOR LEGAL PURPOSES
— EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE SERVICE OR THESE TERMS WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE TOTAL AMOUNT OF FEES YOU HAVE PAID US IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS IMMEDIATELY PRECEDING THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM, OR (B) ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS (US$100).
This section applies whether the claim is based on contract, tort (including negligence), statute, or any other theory. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations of liability; in those jurisdictions, our liability will be limited to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law.
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Legal LifeSaver, its operators, employees, contractors, and affiliates from and against any and all claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of or relating to:
- Your use of the service
- Your Content
- Your violation of these Terms
- Your violation of any applicable law or the rights of any third party
- Any claim by another person or party that your use of the service, or your content, harmed them
12. Changes to the Service
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the service, or any part of it, at any time and without notice. We may add, remove, or change features. Your continued use of the service after any such change constitutes acceptance of the change.
13. Termination
You may close your account at any time by contacting us at the email address in our Privacy Policy. Upon closure, we will delete Your Content in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
We may suspend or terminate your account at any time, with or without notice, if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms, engaged in unlawful activity, or created risk or possible legal exposure for us. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including Sections 3–5, 9–11, and 14–18) will survive termination of your account.
14. Governing Law and Venue
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. You agree that any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the service will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Harris County, Texas, and you consent to personal jurisdiction and venue in those courts.
15. Not a Law Firm — Reminder
We remind you again: Legal LifeSaver is not a law firm, does not provide legal advice, and does not substitute for a lawyer’s judgment. If you have important legal decisions to make — including choosing which documents to file, when to file them, or how to argue your position — you should consult a licensed attorney in your jurisdiction.
16. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make a material change, we will notify you by email (to the address associated with your account) or by posting a prominent notice within the service before the change takes effect. Your continued use of the service after the change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree to a change, your remedy is to stop using the service and to close your account.
17. Miscellaneous
Entire Agreement. These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Legal LifeSaver regarding the service and supersede any prior agreements or communications.
Severability. If any provision of these Terms is held unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect, and the unenforceable provision will be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable while preserving its intent.
No Waiver. Our failure to enforce any provision of these Terms is not a waiver of that provision or any other provision.
Assignment. You may not assign these Terms without our prior written consent. We may assign these Terms in connection with a merger, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of assets.
Notices. Notices to us must be sent to the contact address listed in our Privacy Policy. Notices to you will be delivered to the email address associated with your account.
Independent Contractors. These Terms do not create an agency, partnership, joint venture, or employment relationship between you and Legal LifeSaver.
